Request to cut back overgrown vegetation on Portland Street

I would like to report an issue on Portland Street, near Michael Faraday School.

There are a significant number of overgrown vegetation growing along the street, particularly around two of the trees where the growth has become quite overgrown. It makes the area look untidy and, in my experience, tends to encourage dogs to urinate there, with dog fouling and fox activity also becoming more noticeable.

During events and festivals at Burgess Park, I’ve also noticed that some people walking home use these overgrown areas around the trees to urinate, as the long weeds provide some cover. Keeping these areas clear and well maintained may help discourage this behaviour and improve the appearance and cleanliness of the street.

I would be grateful if the area could be inspected and, if appropriate, the overgrown vegetation cleared as part of the council’s regular street maintenance programme.
