Eyesore/health hazard on the stretch between Dulwich Picture Gallery and Old College Tennis Club
Reported via desktop in the Street Litter Picking category anonymously at 12:22, Monday 3 August 2026
Sent to Southwark Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9889573.
I have been litter picking here fortnightly for a few months and the litter problem behind the greenery fronting the pavement on both sides has become overwhelming for me (I cleared black bags and black bags full just today). Behind the greenery has become a dumping ground for alcohol cans and bottles, soft drink bottles (some full of human urine), food waste and wrapping, nitrous oxide canisters, dirty tissue and loo roll, and assorted fly-tipping. Parts of this section are now beginning to smell badly too in this heat. Given the number of people passing through this area, particularly young children (tennis club, local school, park), this seems like a potential health hazard.
