Overgrown tree causing blockage and safety issues

Reported via mobile in the Tree Issues on the Highway category anonymously at 08:16, Sunday 19 July 2026

Sent to Southwark Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9809359.

Overgrown tree which is obstructing pushchairs, wheelchairs and safety issue for visually impaired or unstable members of the public. It is also thorny so potential safety issue. This was never an issue until recent council works to the tree itself. On Whateley Road, near Crystal Palace Road junction (near 198a Crystal Palace Road address). Needs urgent attention for safety reasons. Thanks

  • Further to my previous report (now supposedly “investigated” and “fixed” despite no action being take). This is a public obstruction on a busy highway, a public safety issue due to thorns and an issue of liability for the council (and therefore taxpayers). This needs to be controlled very promptly.
