Missing “No Entry” Sign on Gedling Place Causing Traffic Congestion and Resident Access Issues

Reported via mobile in the Road traffic signs category anonymously at 08:36, Thursday 4 June 2026

Sent to Southwark Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9558751.

I am writing to report that the “No Entry” sign on Gedling Place, SE1 3GR has been removed. As a result, vehicles are now incorrectly using the road in both directions. This becomes a serious issue when Tower Bridge is closed, as drivers divert through surrounding streets. Gedling Place is then used from both ends, causing significant congestion and effectively blocking the road. This has left residents, including myself, unable to enter or exit the street due to vehicles meeting head-on with no clear right of way. It is creating unnecessary disruption and a potential safety risk. This issue requires urgent attention, as the missing sign is directly leading to misuse of the road and repeated access problems for residents. Please can the “No Entry” sign be reinstated as soon as possible. Kind regards, Jade
