Blocked drains causing rainwater pooling and damp issue at Foundry Building

Reported via desktop in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 11:32, Monday 9 February 2026

Sent to Southwark Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8873582.

During rainfall, water is not clearing and is collecting along the road, creating a potential hazard for pedestrians and vehicles. The drains in this area seem to be blocked and require attention.

This issue is also affecting the Foundry Building, as the surrounding soil remains constantly moist, which is contributing to a rising damp problem within the property.

Updates

  • The issue has not been resolved, and the puddle of rainwater was still present last week.

  • Hi,

I am writing on behalf of the Foundry Business Centre, 156 Blackfriars Rd, SE1 8EN, regarding the ongoing issues that have still not been resolved.

We are continuing to experience rising damp issues in the building and excess water has also caused damage to our fencing. In addition, the puddle of rainwater is still present despite this having been previously reported.

Please could you confirm when these issues will be resolved, as we would appreciate an urgent update on the next steps and expected timeframe.

    Kind regards, Natalja
