Pothole

Reported via mobile in the Potholes category anonymously at 08:41, Wednesday 4 February 2026

Sent to Southwark Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8833911.

One on both sides of the junction of Southwark Bridge Road and Southwark Street. Both potholes are just before the traffic light. This one on the side of traffic heading southbound.

Updates

  • The holes have been filled in. Just patch jobs. Rather than fixing the root of the problem, they have just filled it up with tarmac. Its been a few weeks now and its already breaking back out again. Some new holes have formed now aswell

  • The holes have been patch fixed. Meaning that the whole has been filled but not fixed. Recently council fixed some long term holes on Southwark Bridge where they dug up the holes and the area around the hole and did a permanent fix which are all still holding up. These temporary fixes are not holding up. Some of the tarmac stuffed into these holes are already coming out and/or are cracking through.

Some of the holes have had these temporary patch fixes but there are still a few closer towards the Southwark street junction with Southwark Bridge Road which have not been filled.

It seems this entire stretch of Road is falling apart
