Road surface damage and water ponding over CP Subway

Reported via desktop in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 14:56, Wednesday 21 January 2026

Sent to Southwark Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8736376.

We have road surface damage and water ponding over CP Subway, causing sustained water egress into the ground. Progressive road works means surface water now ponds directly over Grade II Subway, well after rain has stopped. This ponding likely slowly soaks into the ground above the Subway adding containments into the saturated ground. The heavily cracked road surface adds to surface water and contaminants soaking into the ground above the Subway.

The ponding water and road surface break up above the CP Subway could be impacting how to prove a mains water leak in this area of road, and contributing to the ongoing leak seen inside the Grade II* CP Subway (and road over bridge). The road surface needs to relayed, and reprofiled to stop ponding of water on top of the Subway.
