Tree planted on bridge over Grade II* Nationally Listed asset

Reported via desktop in the Pavements/footpaths category anonymously at 14:16, Wednesday 21 January 2026

Sent to Southwark Council 1 minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8736043.

Southwark have three tree planted on or near the road over bridge of the Grade II* Nationally Listed asset. Their tree pits are open soil, and contributing to sustained surface water penetrating through into the valuable and historic 1865 built structure that holds up the road. Over time and over wet seasonal weather surface water ingress is adding to saturating the ground. This makes elimination of a possible mains water leak source much harder. Urgent action to remove trees, and assess if sub soil is also showing signs of a mains water leak.
