Reported via mobile in the Flytipping - General category anonymously at 14:08, Saturday 17 January 2026

Sent to Southwark Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8708783.

Formal Complaint: Ongoing Illegal Waste Dumping – Sudrey Street / 181 Southwark Bridge Road Location: Sudrey Street (opposite our front door), SE1 Waste originating from 181 Southwark Bridge Road Duration of issue: Ongoing for approximately two months, occurring daily Details of the complaint: I am writing to formally report persistent and illegal dumping of household and bulky waste on Sudrey Street, directly opposite our property. The waste is being dumped by residents of 181 Southwark Bridge Road, who are using a fire exit door that opens onto Sudrey Street to dispose of their rubbish. The dumping includes: Black bags left outside permitted collection days Loose, unbagged household waste Christmas trees Broken glass Christmas tree baubles scattered across the pavement Bulky waste left on the pavement and roadway From Friday 16 January, a red wheeled bin appeared on the pavement. This bin is unsecured and frequently: Wheeled around the street Pushed by school children Left rolling into the road, creating a traffic hazard As of today, the bin is sitting in the road. Health, safety, and access concerns: Broken glass baubles pose a serious risk of injury to pedestrians, children, and animals Waste is attracting rodents, foxes, and pigeons Persistent bad odours affecting nearby homes Obstruction of the pavement, including for wheelchair users and buggiesWaste rolling into the road and blocking vehiclesWe have been advised by the council that bins are not permitted on the pavement and that black bags may only be placed out on designated collection days (Tuesdays). These rules are being ignored daily by residents of 181 Southwark Bridge Road. Property management details: The building was previously managed by Look Ahead. Residents have confirmed it is now managed by: Global Guardians 📞 0203 818 9100. I respectfully request that the council Investigate ongoing fly-tipping and misuse of the public pavement. Contact the managing agent to ensure compliance. Thank you

  • I am writing to formally request that the investigation into the ongoing rubbish dumping issue be expedited, as the situation has now become unmanageable. The rubbish is being dumped outside the building located directly opposite our house. The management company for that building, Global Guardians (📞 0203 818 9100), should be able to access the CCTV camera positioned above their fire door, which is directly above the area where rubbish is repeatedly being left. It is my understanding that this issue is being caused by a small number of residents who have moved into that building within the last six months. The situation is now causing serious concern. We are increasingly worried about the risk of rodents entering our home when we open our front door. We frequently wake up to rubbish dumped overnight, and the foul smell is making our living environment extremely uncomfortable and unpleasant, even to sit in our lounge. Given the health and safety implications, I would greatly appreciate it if this matter could be treated as urgent and the investigation accelerated as soon as possible. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your prompt response.

  • Photo taken on 11/02/2026 , Wednesday. Viola from Southwark council hasn’t collected this yesterday,Tuesday- general waste collection day for this area. I am not sure may be they thought it is only for Biffa to collect these. Could you kindly speed up the investigation please? Our life is getting miserable because of this issue. I would greatly appreciate your kind assistance in this matter. Thank you.
