Contraflow cycle lane markings barely visible: needs re-painting please

Reported via iOS in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 16:16, Tuesday 7 October 2025

Sent to Southwark Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8265007.

The painted contraflow cycle lane on Thurland Road, between the junctions of Spa Rd and Old Jamaica Rd is very faded and barely visible. It needs repainting urgently please to make it safe. It’s so faded that it’s increasing the risk of collisions between cyclists using the cycle lane and oncoming motorists, who do not give cyclists enough space, as they can’t see the cycle lane, and cyclists and pedestrians walking along the pavement on Thurland Rd by St James' Church, as they don't know to look out for cyclists travelling South, as they can't see the cycle lane, and frequently step into the road without looking. I’ve seen several near misses. Please can this be fixed ASAP. It’s been this way for at least 3 months
