Doubletree Hotel coaches causing problems on Rotherhithe Street

Sent to Southwark Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7864649.
I am writing on behalf of concerned residents to raise ongoing issues regarding coach activity linked to the DoubleTree by Hilton Docklands hotel. Despite previous efforts to engage directly with the hotel, the problems persist, and we now seek the Council’s urgent intervention.
We would like to highlight the following three key concerns: 1. Illegal and Hazardous Parking at Night Coaches serving the hotel are regularly parked overnight along Rotherhithe Street, a residential road not designed for such use. This has caused severe congestion, especially for C10 buses attempting to pass through. Please see the attached photo taken today at 9:45pm which show the disruption caused. In some cases, coaches even mount the pavement, posing a danger to pedestrians, especially at night. This is deeply concerning from a safety perspective. 2. Idling Engines and Air Pollution in a Residential Area Every morning, coaches are left idling for prolonged periods outside residential homes. This area includes a children’s playground and is used by families walking to school. The noise and air pollution are unacceptable and raise serious health concerns, particularly for children and elderly residents. 3. Damage to Road Infrastructure and Vibrations in Homes The weight and volume of coach traffic, particularly along Rotherhithe Street, appear to be causing visible deterioration of the road surface. Many residents report feeling regular vibrations in their homes, which we strongly believe are due to the constant passage and parking of heavy vehicles.
We have spoken with the hotel’s management who claim no responsibility, stating that the coaches are third-party providers. However, it is clear they are serving hotel guests and their presence is a direct result of the hotel’s operations.
We ask that the Council take urgent action to investigate and resolve these issues.

Hi, this photo of coach linked to Double Tree Hilton was taken today 25th July 2025 at 8:09pm when I first spotted it. The engine was left idling (lights switched on in the photo). The coach was there until 8:45pm so 35 minutes and the whole time with engine on.
The coach was already there before I spotted it. Pls Southwark Council, this is a residential area with families and children- I urge you to take action asap as Doubletree Hilton management does not claim responsibility as they said they are third party owned although they serve their customers. Doubletree Hilton management needs to do more than just washing their hands off!
