Drink containers and general litter left on Bankside wall
Reported via mobile in the Street Litter Picking category anonymously at 11:25, Thu 19 June 2025
Sent to Southwark Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7733018.
As the weather has been good, customers and (the general public) of the Anchor Bankside pub have been enjoying drinks and food sat on the Bankside wall as they are more than entitled to. While there is a bin available this was full and people have abandoned their waste all along the wall. Leaving it susceptible to falling into the river creating a pollution risk, not to mention unsightly presence on the bank. This is not an isolated incident and correlates with good weather. While I appreciate that the pub provides degradable drinks containers and some bins, there needs to be better resources or infrastructure to ensure customers are placing their waste into waste bins.
