Drug Paraphernalia and Human Poop

Reported via mobile in the Flytipping - Drug related Litter category anonymously at 10:03, Sat 24 May 2025

Sent to Southwark Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7612394.

We’ve been experiencing a serious issue with a homeless individual living behind our homes, on Mint Street Park. This person has been engaging in substance use—both alcohol and drugs—and has been using the flowerbeds behind our building as a toilet.

Although several of us have reported this to the police on separate occasions, the situation has only worsened. Today, when I went to check the area, I found used syringes, alcohol bottles, and additional human waste scattered throughout the space.

I have been doing my best to clean it up, but the conditions are now beyond what residents can or should be expected to handle. This has become a significant health and safety risk, especially as children frequently play in that area. I’ve already alerted the local daycare due to the danger.

I’m urgently requesting that the council arrange for a professional cleanup of the area and take action to address the root of this issue. It is not safe for the community, and we need support to ensure the space is properly maintained and monitored going forward.
