Trees affected by swarm of tiny black flies

Reported via desktop in the Trees category anonymously at 09:24, Tue 8 April 2025

Sent to Southwark Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7403874.

My Name is Daniela and I’m the Director of Rooms in the Hoxton Southwark. I would like to bring to your attention that since mid-March, all the large trees in front of our hotel have been severely affected by a swarm of tiny black flies. In addition, the trees are releasing a substantial amount of sticky residue, which is accumulating on the pavement below. This sticky surface is causing significant discomfort and inconvenience for both pedestrians and our hotel guests as they pass by. We kindly request that someone be sent to inspect the situation and take appropriate action as soon as possible. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.

Regards, Daniela
