Subject: Urgent Request for Traffic Calming Measures on Goodrich Road (section between Landcroft Rd and Crystal pl Rd), East Dulwich

Reported via desktop in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 19:21, Friday 29 November 2024

Sent to Southwark Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6801872.

I am writing to raise serious concerns about the safety of Goodrich Road in East Dulwich. As a residential street, it has increasingly become a shortcut for vehicles looking to bypass main roads, leading to an alarming rise in speeding. Without any traffic calming measures in place, drivers frequently accelerate dangerously, posing a significant risk to pedestrians, cyclists, and local residents, including children and elderly individuals. This reckless behavior is not only distressing for those living here but also creates an unacceptable hazard. We urge the Council to take immediate action to prevent potential accidents or injuries by implementing traffic calming solutions, such as speed bumps, chicanes, or signage, before it’s too late. Ensuring the safety of our community should be a top priority, and we hope to see this issue addressed promptly.
